Students cut and paste or write words in boxes to label the parts of a honey bee. Then, they sequence the stages of the honey bee life cycle as they assemble an accordion booklet. |
The Honey Makers has a late fourth-grade reading level, so educators will likely need to read it aloud to most students in the lower grades. There are a couple of different people who have posted themselves reading The Honey Makers on YouTube. I recommend Jenni Moyer's rendition, if you'd like to go that route.
Epic: Digital Library for Kids has many Gail Gibbons titles in its catalog. However, The Honey Makers must be underappreciated, as it is not included. It may be checked out for free from Open Library, though.
My honey bee diagram and life cycle booklet makes a wonderful companion to any number of other bee books too. I've listed a couple of them at the bottom of this post.
